To support their farm during the Great Depression, Cordelia began serving her famous fried chicken dinners, and soon, people were lining up for hours, not just for the chicken, but for her homemade berry pies and preserves. Walter, ever the visionary, started building attractions to entertain the waiting crowds, beginning with a replica ghost town in 1940. This ingenious solution laid the foundation for what would become Knott's Berry Farm, a place where families could create lasting memories amidst thrilling rides, captivating shows, and delicious food.
